Project Progress
Yu Chau West Street Redevelopment Project (“the Project”) was first commenced in 2013 under the Pilot Scheme for Redevelopment of Industrial Buildings. Due to the low acquisition rate, the URA Board, in 2018, decided that the Project should be halted. Instead, the URA carried out retrofitting works at the acquired premises to support rehabilitation initiatives in particular the application of retrofitting to extend the serviceability of old industrial buildings. The retrofitting works has been completed in 2022.
The URA has considered various aspects and decided to withdraw and not to proceed further with the Project. The decision of withdrawal of the Project was published in the Gazette Notice on 26 August 2022.
