Community Service Partnership Scheme

The URA has launched a community service partnership scheme (CSPS) as a platform for collaboration with universities and NGOs to serve the underprivileged groups in the old districts through volunteer services, while at the same time promote service learning among young people. We have been helping to improve the living environment of the old districts through our core businesses in redevelopment and building rehabilitation. Our staff is dedicated to working for the well-being of the residents in these dilapidated areas, and hope to contribute more to the community through this scheme. Since 2012, the Scheme has partnered with universities and NGOs and has accumulated a total of more than 2,700 volunteers. The team served the community for more than 19,000 hours through different activities. 

The Home Level-Up Programme

To improve the living environment of residents in old districts, the "Home Level-Up Programme" integrates home safety improvement works, space decluttering and reorganisation, and custom-made furniture services into a one-stop support solution for families in need.

The programme draws on the collective efforts of multiple stakeholders. In addition to a volunteer team comprising URA staff and students from The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the professional team from the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors’ "Building Doctor®" initiative contributes pro bono building inspections, while qualified contractors undertake the necessary home repair works.

Through cross-sector collaboration and holistic support, we aim to help underprivileged families maximise their living space, and foster safer, more comfortable and more liveable homes.
