Invitation to Tender for URA’s Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (10 June 2022) invites a total of 34 property developers to tender for the development of the Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project (the Project) in Sai Ying Pun. The URA will provide the relevant tender documents to the invited property developers, based on which they can submit tenders for the development. All tender submissions should reach the URA Headquarters at 26/F COSCO Tower, 183 Queen’s Road Central, by 12:00 noon on 11 July 2022 (Monday). Any submission of the tender received after the specified closing time mentioned above will not be accepted. The tender review panel will consider the tenders received and then make a recommendation to the URA Board for its decision on the award of the development of the Project.

URA Welcomes Government’s Appointments of Managing Director and Executive Director
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (10 June 2022) welcomes the Government’s re-appointment of Ir Wai Chi-sing as Managing Director of the URA for a term of three years with effect from 15 June 2022. It also welcomes the appointment of Ms Carolin Fong Suet-yuen as Executive Director, also for a term of three years, starting from 3 October 2022. Ms Fong will take up the position of Executive Director (Operations), overseeing the work on building rehabilitation, acquisition and clearance, works and contracts, and legal matters. URA & Chinachem Group Jointly Present “An Art Journey into the Past and Present Urban Reinvention · Advance Beyond 25” Miniature Exhibition in Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and Chinachem Group (CCG) jointly hosted the opening ceremony of the miniature exhibition, entitled “An Art Journey into the Past and Present Urban Reinvention · Advance Beyond 25” at Central Market today (1 June 2022). The exhibition is the first to showcase the miniature of the city development as part of the celebratory events. URA Commences Redevelopment Project in “Lung Shing” Area of Kowloon City Towards District-based Planning Visions for Building a Liveable and Walkable Community
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (27 May 2022) commences the statutory planning procedures for the Nga Tsin Wai Road / Carpenter Road Development Scheme (KC-017) in the “Lung Shing” area of Kowloon City. The URA has adopted the planning-led model in which a holistic plan to renew the old district is formulated before finalising the proposal for KC-017. In addition, the URA adopts an integrated approach by ways of redevelopment, rehabilitation, preservation and revitalisation for the URA’s projects in the vicinity, thereby realising the overall planning visions of the district. 34 Expressions of Interest Received for Development of URA’s Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 34 Expressions of Interest for the development of the Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project (the Project) in Sai Ying Pun when the invitation for submission closed today (10 May 2022). A tender review panel under the URA Board will shortlist the qualified developers from the submissions, taking into consideration their development experience and financial capability to undertake the development in accordance with the shortlisting criteria set by the tender review panel. Based on the principal tender terms approved by the URA Board, shortlisted developers will be invited to submit tenders for the Project. URA Welcomes Appointments to the Board
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (29 April 2022) welcomes the Government’s appointments/re-appointments of 13 non-executive directors (non-official) of the URA Board, for a term of three years with effect from 1 May 2022. The four new non-official non-executive directors are Mr Chan Ka-kui, Ir Janice Lai Wai-man, Mrs Sylvia Lam Yu Ka-wai and Ms Yvonne Yeung Kin-ha; whereas the re-appointments include the Honourable Chow Chung-kong (also re-appointed as Chairman of the URA), the Honourable Vincent Cheng Wing-shun, Ms Ivy Chua Suk-lin, Mr Andy Ho Wing-cheong, Dr Lee Ho-yin, Ms Elaine Lo Yuen-man, Professor Tang Bo-sin, Ms Judy Tong Kei-yuk and the Honourable Stephen Wong Yuen-shan. Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Development of URA’s Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite interested developers to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development of the Sung Hing Lane / Kwai Heung Street Development Project (the Project) in Sai Ying Pun next Monday (25 April 2022). The Project, which covers a site area of 1,077.3 square metres, was commenced in July 2017. Upon completion, it is planned to provide a total gross floor area of about 8,804 square metres. Through better site planning and design, the redevelopment aims to enhance the connectivity to the adjoining children’s playground while improving the existing pedestrian access from Des Voeux Road West and Kwai Heung Street. URA Publishes Tender Amounts of Unsuccessful Submissions for Development of Four URA Projects in To Kwa Wan
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (22 April 2022) published on an anonymous basis the tender amounts offered by the unsuccessful but conforming tenderers in the tender for the combined development of four projects[1] located at Hung Fook Street, Kai Ming Street and Wing Kwong Street in To Kwa Wan (the Development). The URA commenced the tender exercise of the Development earlier and a total of seven tenders were received when the tender closed on 10 February 2022. After careful deliberation by the URA Board, the URA awarded the tender for the Development to Centenary Investments Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CK Asset Holdings Limited, on 3 March 2022. Reopening of URA Facilities
In view of the Government’s phased resumption of public services as epidemic situation stabilises, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will reopen its facilities tomorrow (Thursday, 21 April 2022). The Urban Renewal Exploration Centre (UREC) and SPORTS EXPO will resume their visiting sessions on 21 April. The online booking service of the two facilities (UREC: http://urec.org.hk/urec/about/ and SPORTS EXPO: https://k28.ura-vb.org.hk/) is resumed with immediate effect for the public to make their appointments. Whereas the UREC’s docent services at the old urban district will remain suspended until further notice. URA Further Extends Rent Relief Period for Its Tenants
In view that the fifth wave of the COVID-19 outbreak has severely impacted many industries since January 2022, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will further extend rent relief for its domestic and commercial tenants starting from tomorrow (1 April 2022) and up to the end of September 2022, in a bid to assist the URA’s tenants in the face of the current challenges through these difficult times. The URA’s rent relief measures for its tenants have been in place since April 2020. With the coming round of measures, the cumulative amount of rent concession will exceed $200 million. The new round of rent relief will have more targeted effort with greater magnitude of assistance, benefitting over 800 domestic and commercial tenants from different sectors. The measures include: 75%
