“Mallory Wishes Come True” City’s First Interactive Wishing Tree Brings Pizzazz to 7 Mallory Street Revitalisation Project in Wan Chai
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) held the opening ceremony of “Mallory Wishes Come True” on 17 December 2021 at 7 Mallory Street (M7) in Wan Chai, which became the first community event after the venue was given a new operating position with the theme of “Building Culture, Connecting Lives”. The re-positioned M7 unveiled Hong Kong’s first interactive neon “wishing tree”. The 4.5 m tall “wishing tree” was set up at M7’s public open space to showcase the history of Wan Chai through sophisticated and interactive audio and visual effects in an immersive way, bringing a new experience to the visitors. Tender Award for URA’s Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced today (16 December 2021) that the contract for the development of Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project (the Project) in To Kwa Wan has been awarded to Port Destiny Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kerry Properties Limited, with a tender amount at HK$5,587.8 million. The URA earlier invited 34 property developers / consortia to submit tenders for the Project following an expression of interest exercise. The URA received a total of eight tenders from these 34 property developers / consortia when the submission of tender closed on 25 November 2021. 31 Expressions of Interest Received for Development of Four URA Projects in To Kwa Wan
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 31 Expressions of Interest for the combined development (the Development) of four projects[1] located at Hung Fook Street, Kai Ming Street and Wing Kwong Street in To Kwa Wan when the invitation for submission closed today (7 December 2021). A tender review panel under the URA Board will shortlist the qualified developers / consortia from the submissions, taking into consideration their development experience and financial capability to undertake the Development in accordance with the shortlisting criteria set by the tender review panel. URA Hosts Photography Exhibition on Hong Kong Paralympic Athletes at YM²
To celebrate the remarkable success of Hong Kong’s athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) hosted the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Photography Exhibition (The Exhibition) at Kwun Tong’s YM² today(3 December 2021). The theme for the Exhibition centres around the achievements of the Paralympic athletes, and features photographs, several Paralympic torches, and medals won by athletes from previous Paralympic Games. The event aims to recognise the contribution of and efforts by every athlete and to garner public support for the development of Para Sports in Hong Kong. Eight Tenders Received for URA’s Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of eight tenders for the Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project (the Project) in To Kwa Wan when the invitation for submission of tender closed today (25 November 2021). A tender review panel (TRP) under the URA Board will consider the tenders received and make recommendation to the URA Board for its decision on the award of the development of the Project. Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Development of Four URA Projects in To Kwa Wan
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite interested developers/consortia to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the combined development (the Development) of four projects1 located at Hung Fook Street, Kai Ming Street and Wing Kwong Street in To Kwa Wan tomorrow (23 November 2021). The four projects with a total site area of 5,438 square metres covering two adjoining sites, namely Hung Fook Street / Kai Ming Street and Wing Kwong Street / Kai Ming Street, were commenced between 2013 and 2017. Upon completion, the two adjoining sites in total will provide a maximum total gross floor areas of 48,942 square metres. The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) has been improving the standard of housing and the built environment of Hong Kong by carrying out urban renewal for the past 20 years, since its establishment under the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance in 2001. The URA commemorated its 20th Anniversary today (19 November 2021) which marked a key milestone in urban renewal, bringing forth urban regeneration on all fronts to improve the living environment of older areas, thereby creating quality, environmentally-sustainable and liveable homes. Invitation to Tender for URA’s Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (26 October 2021) invites a total of 34 property developers/ consortia to tender for the development of the Hung Fook Street / Ngan Hon Street Development Project (the Project) in To Kwa Wan. The URA will provide the relevant tender documents to the invited property developers/ consortia, based on which they can submit tenders for the development. All tender submissions should reach the URA Headquarters at 26/F COSCO Tower, 183 Queen’s Road Central, by 12:00 noon on 25 November 2021 (Thursday). Any submission of the tender received after the specified closing time mentioned above will not be accepted. URA Publishes Tender Amounts of Unsuccessful Submissions for Bailey Street / Wing Kwong Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (20 October 2021) published on an anonymous basis the tender amounts offered by the unsuccessful but conforming tenderers in the tender for the development of Bailey Street / Wing Kwong Street Development Project (the Project) in To Kwa Wan. The URA commenced the tender exercise of the Project earlier and a total of six tenders were received when the tender closed on 23 August 2021. Responses by URA to 2021 Policy Address
In response to the announcement made by the Chief Executive in the 2021 Policy Address today (6 October 2021) on the new initiatives to enhance urban renewal, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) said the URA welcomes the new initiatives that aims to speed up the pace and enhance the effectiveness of urban renewal. URA Chairman, Mr Chow Chung-kong, said, “The URA supports Government’s new initiatives in relation to urban renewal. We welcome the Government’s endorsement of URA’s district-based approach for Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok, including piloting planning tools such as transfer of plot ratio and street consolidation.
