14 tenders received for URA’s Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 14 tenders for the Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project (the Project) in Tai Kok Tsui when the invitation for submission of tender closed today (20 May 2021). A tender review panel (TRP) under the URA Board will consider the tenders received and make recommendation to the URA Board for its decision on the award of the development of the Project. The URA earlier invited interested developers to submit Expressions of Interest for the Project. After careful consideration of the Expressions of Interest received, the TRP invited 39 property developers to submit tenders. First round applications for Building Drainage System Repair Subsidy Scheme opens on 1 May 2021
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announces today (30 April 2021) that the first round of applications for the Building Drainage System Repair Subsidy Scheme (the Scheme) will open from tomorrow (1 May 2021). The Scheme will provide technical and financial assistance to owners of old and dilapidated buildings on common drains, so as to facilitate needy owners to organise repair and/or improvement works on drains for enhancement of living condition and environmental hygiene. URA further extends rent relief period for its tenants
In view of the ongoing impact brought by COVID-19 pandemic to the economy of Hong Kong, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announces today (29 April 2021) to further extend the rent relief for its domestic tenants and commercial tenants in its properties for another six months until the end of September 2021, in a bid to assist the URA’s tenants in the face of current economic challenges amid the pandemic to sustain their businesses and support employment. The URA’s rent relief measures have been in place for a year since April 2020. Invitation to Tender for URA’s Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (19 April 2021) invites a total of 39 property developers to tender for the development of the Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project (the Project) in Tai Kok Tsui. The URA will provide the relevant tender documents to the invited property developers, based on which they can submit tenders for the development. All tender submissions should reach the URA Headquarters at 26/F COSCO Tower, 183 Queen’s Road Central, by 12:00 noon on 20 May 2021 (Thursday). Any submission of the tender received after the specified closing time mentioned above will not be accepted. Yue Man Square Public Transport Interchange of URA’s Kwun Tong Town Centre Project commences operation tomorrow
The Yue Man Square Public Transport Interchange (PTI) at the Development Areas 2 and 3 of the Urban Renewal Authority’s (URA) Kwun Tong Town Centre Project will commence operation tomorrow (2 April). Termini and en-route stops for eight bus routes and 21 green minibus and red public light bus routes currently at Yue Man Square area will be relocated to this new PTI equipped with multiple innovative and smart features. The URA will work with various government departments, bus and public light bus operators from the early hours of 2 April to relocate the bus and minibus stops. The existing bus and minibus stops concerned will be temporarily closed after the departure of the last bus and minibus. 41 Expressions of Interest received for URA’s Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 41 Expressions of Interest for the development of the Oak Street / Ivy Street Development Project (the Project) in Tai Kok Tsui when the invitation for submission closed today (10 March 2021). A tender review panel under the URA Board will shortlist the qualified developers from the submissions, taking into consideration their development experience and financial capability to undertake the development in accordance with the shortlisting criteria set by the tender review panel. URA and HKSHCL sign Memorandum of Understanding on Tai Hang Sai Estate Redevelopment
With the support and facilitation of the HKSAR Government, the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and The Hong Kong Settlers Housing Corporation Limited (HKSHCL) today (8 March) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the “Tai Hang Sai Estate Redevelopment” project. The signing ceremony was held at the HKSAR Central Government Offices and was witnessed by the Hon. Frank Chan Fan, Secretary for Transport and Housing, Chairman of the URA, the Hon. Chow Chung-kong, and Director of HKSHCL, Prof. the Hon. Arthur K. C. Li. The MOU was signed by Managing Director of the URA, Ir Wai Chi-sing, and Chairman of HKSHCL, Dr. the Hon. David K. P. Li. URA commences new redevelopment project in Kowloon City
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (5 March 2021) commences the statutory planning procedures of the To Kwa Wan Road / Wing Kwong Street Development Scheme (KC-016) in Kowloon City. The KC-016 project will be integrated with the seven URA ongoing redevelopment projects in the vicinity under the district-based urban renewal approach adopted since 2016 to achieve a holistic planning for the district, thereby creating more benefits for the community. KC-016 will bring to the area improved connectivity, accessibility and pedestrian environment through a more effective pedestrian walkway and road network. URA and Chinachem Group Sign Operation Contract for Central Market
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and Noble Vantage Ltd., a member company of Chinachem Group (Chinachem), today (1 March) signed the operation contract for the Central Market Revitalisation Project (the Project). The URA and Chinachem will jointly take up the Project’s operation and management, starting from today. Responses by URA to the 2021-22 Budget
In response to the announcement made by the Financial Secretary in the 2021-22 Budget today (24 February 2021) on the Government’s funding of $1 billion to launch a subsidy scheme to assist old buildings to carry out drainage repair or enhancement works, a spokesperson for the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) said the URA supports the Government’s initiative to promote owners to conduct building rehabilitation works to improve the condition of buildings and the living conditions. The URA will be tasked to administer the subsidy scheme, under which, financial assistance will be provided to needy owners to conduct necessary drainage inspection and rehabilitation works in compliance with the requirements under the Buildings Ordinance.
