Tender Result for URA’s Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Scheme
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced today (29 October 2024) that the URA Board had decided not to award the tender for the joint venture development of Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Scheme (KC-015 Project) in Kowloon City. Upon the closing of tender submission on 20 September 2024, only one tender submission was received. After careful deliberation, the Tender Review Panel (TRP) set up under the URA Board considered that as there are additional terms being proposed in the tender submission which were found to deviate from the tender terms of the KC-015 Project, according to the established tender procedures and guidelines, the TRP recommended to the Board not to award the tender and not to open the financial proposal to carry out financial assessment of the tender submi

Responses by URA to 2024 Policy Address
In response to the announcement made by the Chief Executive in the 2024 Policy Address today (16 October 2024) on the initiatives to expedite urban redevelopment and further improve building safety and building management, a spokesperson for the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) said that the URA welcomes these initiatives and will fully support their implementation. URA Launches Home Safety Improvement Community Programme to Enhance Home and Fire Safety for the Elderly and Underprivileged Families in Old Districts
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) launches the Home Safety Improvement Community Programme (HSICP) in partnership with community organisations in Kowloon City, Central and Western District, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, and Yau Tsim Mong to provide home safety solutions with essential safety and fire protection facilities for free to the needy elderly and underprivileged families, including those living in sub-divided units and ethnic minorities. One Tender Submission Received for the URA’s Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Scheme
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received one tender submission for the development of the Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Scheme (KC-015 Project) in Kowloon City before the deadline for submission at noon today (20 September 2024). A URA spokesperson remarked that the URA will not speculate on the considerations of the developers and consortia in submitting tender for the KC-015 Project. Developers and consortia in general take into account various factors when bidding for development projects, such as their liquidity reserves, the impact of interest rates on interest expenses and property prices, construction costs, the inventory of unsold units, and prevailing market demand. URA’s HK$12 Billion Triple-tranche Hong Kong Dollar Bond Issuance
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced today (21 August 2024) the successful pricing of its triple-tranche HK$12 billion senior bonds offering under its US$3 billion Medium Term Note Programme (the Offering). The Offering comprises HK$4 billion 3-year, HK$5 billion 5-year and HK$3 billion 10-year bonds. The proceeds from the Offering will fund its capital expenditure on urban renewal projects and for general corporate purposes. Invitation to Tender – URA’s Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (12 August 2024) invited a total of 30 developers and consortia to submit a tender for the development of the Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project (the Project) in Kowloon City. The URA will provide the tender documents to the invited developers and consortia to prepare their tenders. Interested developers or consortia have to submit their tender proposals to URA Headquarters at 26/F COSCO Tower, 183 Queen’s Road Central, by 12 noon on 20 September 2024 (Friday). Late submissions will not be considered. A tender review panel under the URA Board will carefully examine the submissions received and recommend to the URA Board to make the decision regarding the award of the development contract of the Project. URA Commences Redevelopment Project in Kowloon City to Create Greater Planning Gains through Holistic Planning with Approved Adjoining Development Scheme
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (9 August 2024) commences the Ma Tau Wai Road / Lok Shan Road Development Project (KC-020 Project) in Kowloon City and proceeds with the relevant statutory planning procedures. Through integrated planning and design, the KC-020 Project will create synergy with the adjoining Kau Pui Lung Road / Chi Kiang Street Development Scheme (CBS-2:KC Scheme) approved earlier, bringing extended planning gains to the area. 30 Expressions of Interest Received for URA’s Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 30 Expressions of Interest for the development of the Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project (the Project) in Kowloon City before the deadline for submission at noon today (12 July 2024). A tender review panel under the URA Board will evaluate the submissions and shortlist qualified developers and consortia based on their development experience and financial capability. The shortlisted developers and consortia will be invited to submit tenders for the development of the Project according to the principal tender terms previously approved by the URA Board. Invitation for Expression of Interest – URA’s Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite developers and consortia to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to develop the Kai Tak Road / Sa Po Road Development Project (the Project) in Kowloon City tomorrow (28 June 2024). The URA initially invited EOIs for the development of the Project in October 2023. After careful consideration of various factors, the URA has decided to schedule the tendering of the Project in the third quarter of this year and, in parallel, enhance the criteria for shortlisting qualified developers eligible to bid for the Project. Building Drainage System Repair Subsidy Scheme Ends after 31 May 2024
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (24 May 2024) announced that the Building Drainage System Repair Subsidy Scheme (the Scheme), launched in 2021 by the Government in partnership with the Urban Renewal Authority (URA), will end after 31 May 2024. To address public concerns regarding issues caused by defective drains during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government announced a funding of HK$1 billion in the 2021-2022 Budget to launch the Scheme. It provides technical and financial support for owners of domestic units of private residential or composite buildings aged 40 years or above to carry out repair and improvement works on the drainage pipes in the common areas of their buildings, thereby improving the building conditions and environmental hygiene.
