URA’s Sung Hing Lane/Kwai Heung Street project: Authorisation by the Secretary for Development
The Secretary for Development (SDEV) has authorised the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to proceed with the Sung Hing Lane/Kwai Heung Street redevelopment project in the Central and Western District, which is published in the Gazette today (Friday). The project was implemented by way of a development project in accordance with the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance (URAO) and was commenced on 28 July 2017, followed by a two-month publication period, during which written objections were received. The URA had deliberated on the objections and submitted the project to SDEV for consideration on 12 December 2017 in accordance with the URAO. 38 Expressions of Interest received for URA’s Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Demand-led Redevelopment Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 38 Expressions of Interest for the development of the Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street demand-led redevelopment project in Sham Shui Po when the invitation for submission closed today (Tuesday). A tender review panel under the URA Board will shortlist the qualified developers, taking into consideration their experience and financial capability to undertake the development in accordance with the requirements and criteria set by the URA. The URA will soon invite the qualified developers to submit tenders for the development based on the principal tender terms approved by the URA Board earlier. URA commences redevelopment projects in two districts to improve the built environment through replanning and rationalising land use
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Friday) commences the planning procedures of two redevelopment projects in the Central and Western District, and Tai Kok Tsui which will bring more planning and social benefits to the community. At a media briefing to announce the projects, Executive Director (Commercial), Mr Michael Ma, said: “The two projects are implemented to meet the objectives set out in the 2011 Urban Renewal Strategy (URS) with a view to improving the built environment through replanning and rationalising the land use thereby enhancing the townscape of the project area.” The two projects commenced today are the Queen’s Road West/In Ku Lane Development Scheme (C&W-006) in the Central and Western District by way of a development scheme under section 25 of the Urban Renew

Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Development of URA’s Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Demand-led Redevelopment Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite interested developers to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development of the Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street demand-led redevelopment project in Sham Shui Po tomorrow (Thursday). The project site, which covers an area of about 1,490 square metres, was commenced in April 2013 under the second round of the URA’s Demand-led Redevelopment Projects (Pilot Scheme). Upon completion, the project will provide a maximum total gross floor area of about 13,410 square metres. URA’s response to media enquiries concerning Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Project
In response to media enquiries concerning the Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Project (H19), a spokesman for the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) said today (Wednesday): The URA currently has not commenced any demolition works within the Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street project area. With regard to the arrangement of the buildings at Nos. 4 – 10 Wa In Fong West within the project area, the URA has also not made any decision yet. In view of the suggestions raised earlier by the local community, including the Central and Western District Council (CWDC), the URA is studying and adopting the following measures on the implementation of the H19 project. URA partners with young people to serve residents in old districts
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) joined hands with eight tertiary institutions and social service organisations to bring love and care to residents in old districts through a series of programmes under the 2017/18 Community Service Partnership Scheme (CSPS). Over 80 participating volunteers and beneficiaries of the programmes came together for a funfair today (Saturday) at the URA’s H6 CONET where Chinese handcraft workshops were held as they embraced the approach of the Year of the Dog. A consortium of Sino Land Company Limited and Chuang’s Consortium International Limited wins development contract of URA’s Reclamation Street/Shantung Street Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Monday) announced that a consortium, Top Harmony Development Limited, consisting of Sino Land Company Limited and Chuang’s Consortium International Limited, has won the contract for the development of Reclamation Street/Shantung Street Project (the Project) in Mong Kok. The URA earlier invited a number of qualified property developers/consortia to submit tenders for the Project following an expression of interest exercise. The URA received a total of 16 tenders when the submission of tender closed on 4 December 2017. URA to issue acquisition offers to three redevelopment projects in Kowloon City
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Wednesday) issues acquisition offers to property owners affected by three of its redevelopment projects in Kowloon City, namely Chun Tin Street/Sung Chi Street Development Scheme (KC-008(A)), Hung Fook Street/Ngan Hon Street Development Scheme (KC-010) and Kai Ming Street/Wing Kwong Street Development Project (KC-013). Projects KC-008(A) and KC-010 were commenced in May and June last year respectively, whereas Project KC-013 was commenced in March this year. KC-008(A) and KC-010 Development Schemes were subsequently approved by the Chief Executive in Council on 31 October 2017 and KC-013 Development Project was authorised by the Secretary for Development on 9 October 2017. 16 tenders received for development of URA’s Reclamation Street/Shantung Street Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 16 tenders for the Reclamation Street/Shantung Street project (the Project) in Mong Kok when the invitation for submission of tender closed today (Monday). A tender review panel (TRP) under the URA Board will consider the tenders received and make recommendation to the URA Board for its decision on the award of tender for the Project. The URA earlier invited interested developers/consortia to submit Expressions of Interest for the Project. After careful consideration of the Expressions of Interest received, the TRP invited 40 property developers/consortia to submit tender. The project site covers an area of about 1,389 square metres. URA welcomes appointments to the Board
The Chairman of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA), Mr Victor So Hing-woh, today (Thursday) welcomed the appointment of a new non-executive director (non-official) Mr Evan Au Yang Chi-chun, and the re-appointment of two non-executive directors (non-official) Dr Gregg Li Ka-lok and Dr Lawrence Poon Wing-cheung, to the URA Board by the Government for a term of three years, with effect from 1 December 2017. “On behalf of the Board of the URA, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to the newly-appointed and re-appointed members.
