Invitation for Expressions of Interest for Development of URA’s Castle Peak Road/Un Chau Street Development Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will invite interested developers to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development of the Castle Peak Road/Un Chau Street Development Project (the Project) in Sham Shui Po tomorrow (Wednesday). The Project, which covers a site area of about 1,650 square metres, was commenced in February 2014. Upon completion, it will provide a maximum total gross floor area of about 14,840 square metres. The successful developer will be required to construct the new development in compliance with the standard and quality requirements, the environmentally sustainable provisions and smart provisions in respect of home energy and water consumption system, home health and wellness system, smart display, home waste management system, building information model

URA Board approves Ma Tau Wai Road/Chun Tin Street Project as “Starter Homes” Pilot Project
The Board of the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Tuesday) approved to accept invitation from the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to assign the Ma Tau Wai Road/Chun Tin Street Project as a “Starter Homes” (SH) Pilot Project, to support the Government’s new initiatives on housing announced earlier. The URA Board also approved authorising the Management of the URA to discuss with relevant policy bureaux and government departments over the next few months the implementation details of the Ma Tau Wai Road/Chun Tin Street SH Pilot Project, which will be submitted to the URA Board and Government for approval before the launch of the SH pre-sale exercise. URA publishes tender amounts of unsuccessful submissions for Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Monday) published on an anonymous basis the tender amounts offered by the unsuccessful but conforming tenderers in the tender for the Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project (the Project) in Sham Shui Po. Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Project is the first URA project to implement the new arrangement of publishing information of the tender results on joint venture development projects. The new arrangement was approved by the URA Board in April 2018. The URA commenced the tender exercise of the Project earlier and a total of 20 tenders were received when the tender closed on 30 May 2018. Application for two new building rehabilitation subsidy schemes begins next week
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Friday) signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the Development Bureau and the Security Bureau for the launch of Operation Building Bright 2.0 Scheme (OBB 2.0 Scheme) and Fire Safety Improvement Works Subsidy Scheme (FSW Scheme) respectively. The URA will also take over the work of the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) under the Mandatory Building Inspection Subsidy Scheme (MBISS). Being fully responsible for handling all new MBISS applications including the areas originally served by HKHS, URA will provide a one-stop and comprehensive support to property owners on various building rehabilitation initiatives. URA’s Ma Tau Wai Road/Chun Tin Street Project
The Chief Executive announced today (Friday) a new Government housing initiative of inviting the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to assign its redevelopment project at Ma Tau Wai Road/Chun Tin Street as a “Starter Homes” Pilot Project (Pilot Project) and to provide 450 units of the redevelopment project as “Starter Homes” units for sale. A URA spokesman said that the URA welcomes the Government’s new initiative and the URA Board would deliberate and resolve the initiative at its meeting in July 2018. Upon approval by the Board, the URA will formulate the pre-sale mechanism and implementation details of the Pilot Project with the Government. URA commences a redevelopment project in Kowloon City to further enhance district environment
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Friday) commences the statutory planning procedures of the Wing Kwong Street/Sung On Street Development Project (KC-014) in Kowloon City to carry through the holistic and district-based approach which the Authority has adopted in rejuvenating the district. A “planning-led” approach will be adopted to further enhance the road network and pedestrian environment, with an aim to maximise the planning and community benefits for the district. The KC-014 Project is located in the vicinity of five URA’s redevelopment projects, which were commenced under the district-based approach for Kowloon City since 2016. Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company Limited wins development contract of URA’s Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Tuesday) announced that the contract for the development of Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project (the Project) in Sham Shui Po has been awarded to World Fame Shipping Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company Limited. The tender amount offered by World Fame Shipping Limited is HK$1,029.2 million, which is the highest among the tender submissions received by the URA for this project. The URA earlier invited 38 property developers to submit tenders for the Project following an expression of interest exercise. Progress of archaeological excavation works of Nga Tsin Wai Village Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) announced today (7 June) the preliminary findings of the Archaeological Impact Assessment (AIA) of the Nga Tsin Wai Village Project (The Project) as well as the works in progress. This includes a further archaeological investigation and excavation based on the recommendations made by the independent archaeological expert for a holistic assessment of the site’s overall heritage value. 20 tenders received for development of URA’s Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) received a total of 20 tenders for the Tung Chau Street/Kweilin Street Redevelopment Project (the Project) in Sham Shui Po when the invitation for submission of tender closed today (Wednesday). A tender review panel (TRP) under the URA Board will consider the tenders received and make recommendation to the URA Board for its decision on the award of the development of the Project. The URA earlier invited interested developers to submit Expressions of Interest for the Project. URA to issue acquisition offers to Sung Hing Lane/Kwai Heung Street project
The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) will soon issue acquisition offers to property owners affected by the Sung Hing Lane/Kwai Heung Street redevelopment project (the Project) in the Central and Western District. Eligible owner-occupiers of domestic properties of the Project will be offered $23,568 per square foot of saleable area which is the unit rate of a notional replacement flat of seven years old situated in the same locality (“Notional Unit Rate”). The Notional Unit Rate is approved by the Land, Rehousing and Compensation Committee (LRCC) of the URA Board today (Monday). In line with the established mechanism, the URA appointed seven independent consultancy firms by open ballot to assess the Notional Unit Rate for the Project.
