URA’s Ash Street Demand-led Redevelopment Project: Authorisation by the Secretary for Development

The Secretary for Development (SDEV) has authorised the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to proceed with a demand-led redevelopment project at Nos. 5 - 13 Ash Street (odd number) in Tai Kok Tsui, which was published in the Gazette today (Friday).

The project was implemented by way of a development project in accordance with the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance (URAO). The project was commenced on 29 May 2015, followed by a two-month publication period during which no objection was received. The URA had submitted the project to SDEV for consideration on 27 October 2015 in accordance with the URAO.

The project covers a gross site area of about 474 square metres covering five street numbers. The buildings were built in 1965.

The URA's current proposal is to redevelop the project to provide about 3,100 square metres of residential floor area for about 69 residential units. It will also provide non-domestic floor area of about 390 square metres. The project is tentatively scheduled for completion by 2021/2022.

  • the URA's Tai Kok Tsui Neighbourhood Centre  (1/F, No. 6, Fuk Tsun Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon) and;
  • the Public Enquiry Service Centre of the Yau Tsim Mong District Office (G/F, Mong Kok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon).
