URA’s Hang On Street Demand-led Redevelopment Project: Authorisation by the Secretary for Development
The Secretary for Development (SDEV) has authorised the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) to proceed with a demand-led redevelopment project at Nos. 12 - 30 Hang On Street (even number) in Kwun Tong, which was published in the Gazette today (Friday).
The project was implemented by way of a development project in accordance with the URAO. The project was commenced on 7 November 2014, followed by a two-month publication period, during which written objections were received. The URA had deliberated on the objections and submitted the project to SDEV for consideration on 30 March 2015 in accordance with the URAO.
Pursuant to the URAO, any objector to the project who is aggrieved by the decision of SDEV may appeal on or before 17 August 2015 by lodging a notice of appeal with the Secretary to the Appeal Board panel, with a copy to SDEV.
The project covers a gross site area of about 865 square metres. It comprises a single nine-storey building covering 10 street numbers, built in 1963.
The URA's current proposal is to redevelop the project to provide about 5,950 square metres of residential floor area for about 138 residential units. It will also provide about 740 square metres of commercial/retail and Government, Institution or Community uses. The project is tentatively scheduled for completion by 2021/2022.
A plan delineating the boundary of the project with a general description is available for public inspection at:
