Invitation to tender for development of Development Areas 2 & 3 of Kwun Tong Town Centre Project

The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) today (Tuesday) invited a total of 10 property developers to tender for the development of residential propertiesabove a podium providing retail and government facilities in the main site of the Kwun Tong Town Centre redevelopment project.

The project is the largest redevelopment initiative ever undertaken by the Authority since establishment. With a total project site area of over 5.35 hectares, the project is divided into five development areas and being implemented in phases. The project areas being put up for development are Development Areas 2 and 3 which occupy a site of about 21,754 square metres bounded by Yue Man Square, Hong Ning Road, Mut Wah Street and Hip Wo Street in Kwun Tong Town Centre. 

The new development is set to provide a total residential gross floor area of 138,980 square metres containing about 1,700 residential units, together with a total non-domestic gross floor area of about 33,220 square metres for retail shops, a two-level public transport interchange for franchised buses and public light buses, a hawker bazaar and a refuse collection point, as well as large public open space of about 6,400 square metres.

Following the expression of interest exercise which was closed on 8 April 2014, a tender review panel under the URA Board has decided to invite 10 interested property developers for tender (full list at annex), after taking into consideration their experience and financial strength to undertake the development in accordance with the requirements and criteria set by the Authority.

All tender submissions should reach the URA Headquarters at 26/F COSCO Tower, 183 Queen's Road Central, by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 15 July 2014.
